Programme Overview – Master of Computer Applications (MCA) (As per NEP-2020 and AICTE Model Curriculum)

The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a two-year postgraduate programme designed in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the AICTE Model Curriculum for postgraduate studies in Computer Applications.

This programme aims to produce competent and industry-ready professionals in the field of computer science and information technology. It provides a multidisciplinary and flexible learning framework, promoting innovation, research orientation, and employability in alignment with NEP-2020’s vision of holistic and outcome-based education.


 Key Objectives (as per NEP-2020 & AICTE guidelines)

  1. To develop a strong conceptual foundation in computing, programming, and problem-solving aligned with modern IT trends.

  2. To encourage critical thinking, creativity, and research aptitude through project-based and experiential learning.

  3. To provide industry-linked education through internships, workshops, and skill-based training modules.

  4. To promote flexibility in learning, including electives, open courses, and multidisciplinary projects.

  5. To inculcate ethical values, communication skills, teamwork, and leadership qualities among learners.

  6. To nurture lifelong learners and entrepreneurs capable of adapting to global technological changes.

    2 Years (4 Semesters) – Full-Time Postgraduate Programme

    • Approved by AICTE, New Delhi

    • Affiliated to Bikaner Technical University (BTU), Bikaner

    Eligibility:

    • Graduation in Computer Applications / Computer Science / IT
      OR

    • Any Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics at 10+2 or Graduation Level
      (Minimum 50% marks for General and 45% for Reserved Category)
